Off-Campus Housing Request - First-Year Students

    Meredith is a residential campus

Research tells us that students who live on campus are often more engaged with advisors, faculty, and peers than students who live off-campus. We take pride in our academic community life and feel strongly that the residential life experience is an integral part of student success.

    Residential and Commuter Policy:
    • First and second-year students under the age of 21 are required to live on campus unless they request to commute from the home of a parent or approved guardian.
    • Students requesting to live off campus may submit an Off-Campus Request Form after they've been admitted and received their Financial Aid Offer.
    • All requests to live off-campus must be received in the Office of Admissions and subsequently approved by the Dean of Students. Email admissions@meredith.edu after you've received your financial aid offer if you would like to discuss the option to commute from the home of a parent or approved guardian.
